A painting of the bushland behind my new home in Australia. The Blue Mountains is a large national park, and I am lucky enough to live at the edge: between the bush and civilisation. This painting was done "en plain air", which means out in the bush, in front of the scene. While setting up, a wombat poked his nose out from the cave! My sister had been yelling because she had a leech on her ankle, and I think we woke him from his winter slumber!
